Expression and calendar settings

Unix: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week. Sunday is 0 or 7; Monday is 1. Enter no command tail.

Blank uses now when you run. Otherwise enter a real ISO instant with Z or an explicit offset, such as 2026-10-30T09:00:00-03:00 (1970–2099). No browser-local interpretation.

Generate a common pattern

These controls replace the expression only with Generate and analyze. Time is local to the selected zone.

Subset: lists, non-wrapping ranges, steps, month/weekday names and Quartz ?. L/W/#, Jenkins H, macros, random fields and command tails are not implemented. No job is scheduled; SAP scheduler, misfire and execution equivalence are not promised. Time-zone rules come from the current JavaScript runtime; no fixed rules version is bundled.

Practical usage guide

A practical workflow for Cron Expression Builder & Explainer

Build and inspect Unix or Quartz cron expressions locally and preview calendar matches in an explicit time zone.

1. Prepare

Choose Unix or Quartz, an IANA zone and an optional UTC/offset-aware reference. Try Monday–Friday at 09:00 or every 15 minutes.

2. Review

Check field numbering, the Unix day OR rule or Quartz ?, and each local time with its UTC offset. Unsupported extensions are not validated.

3. Apply

Copy the expression or download the analysis. Calendar matches skip DST gaps and include both fold instants; no job is scheduled.
