A practical workflow for API Auth Header Builder

Draft a local preview of Basic, Bearer or API-key request authentication without sending or executing the request.

1. Prepare

Select Bearer, Basic or API key and provide synthetic values. Example: Bearer demo-token with URL https://api.example.com/orders.

2. Review

Review the generated Authorization: Bearer demo-token header and POSIX cURL command. For API keys, confirm whether the contract requires a header or query parameter.

3. Apply

The playground does not authenticate or send requests. Basic uses reversible Base64 encoding; generated commands can contain credentials and require careful handling.

Verification before operational use

  • Use a representative case with the inputs needed to reproduce it.
  • Confirm the result in the authorized target environment when runtime versions, namespaces, extensions, permissions or system configuration can change the outcome.
  • Record the source, assumptions, tool settings and expected result so another reviewer can reproduce the check and distinguish verified facts from recommendations.
