A practical workflow for SAP Agent Autonomy Designer

Design a bounded SAP agent use case with a conservative local-policy ceiling, approval gates, permissions, recovery, observability and allowlisted AI suggestions. This local heuristic is not SAP-verified or SAP-certified.

1. Prepare

Describe process, actions, permissions, reversibility, impact and controls. Example: classify blocked orders and propose a resolution, with individual approval before execution.

2. Review

Review the deterministic mode, autonomy ceiling, permissions and approval gates, plus bounded AI recommendations. Check that proposed actions remain within the declared controls.

3. Apply

The designer does not run an agent, change SAP or configure IAM. AI recommendations cannot raise permissions or reduce guards; owners must approve implementation and operational controls.

Verification before operational use

Use a representative case with the inputs needed to reproduce it.
Confirm the result in the authorized target environment when runtime versions, namespaces, extensions, permissions or system configuration can change the outcome.
Record the source, assumptions, tool settings and expected result so another reviewer can reproduce the check and distinguish verified facts from recommendations.
